I have been part of the Cape Cod community of mental health providers for over 20 years. I provide services to people with diverse needs and my approaches have evolved in response to the changing challenges people face today. I work with individuals, men and women, people ranging in age from 16 to older adults.
I help clients who seek therapy for many reasons — relationship discord, low esteem, depression (including post-partum depression), anxiety, trauma (including childhood trauma and current trauma, or trauma from an incident such as a car accident), reproductive issues, life transitions, or loss and grief.
My core values of providing service with “integrity and heart” are fundamental to my practice. Because of my “integrity” clients can count on me for ethical, responsible and honest interactions. Clients can trust that our work is completely confidential. Having “heart” describes my genuine compassion for the clients who work with me.
My education includes a BS in Sociology from Boston University, a MEd in Counseling from Antioch University and a Master in Social Work (MSW) from Boston University. I am certified in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a promising new approach that has been effective for many of my clients. I have studied and trained in Hypnotherapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. I will use the approach that is most appropriate for your particular needs.
My office is a welcoming, comfortable space for working together on the issues that bring you to counseling. If, like many people, you have questions about counseling, please give me a call. I would be happy to talk with you.
